The Marvin Gaye Park Trail (I'm pushing for it to be called the Grapevine Trail. I might just start calling it that and see if it sticks) is undergoing a
rehabilitation and I recently went out to take some photos - of which only one is any good.
The project, which started in July of 2006 should be done soon and includes: restructuring and resurfacing where needed, adding two bridges, improving existing bridges, Widening the trail from 8 feet to 10, narrowing the street at certain trail crossings, installing new lighting and replacing some unneeded trail sections with grass. The trail was in bad shape the last time I rode it and could use some work. I hope it includes signage as well. Last I heard, work at 295
(below) over Watts Branch would include an underpass for the trail, but I don't see it yet.

whats wrong with it being called marvin gaye trail?

Nothing's wrong with it. The park is Marvin Gaye Park which is great. The trail is Marvin Gaye Park Trail which is just sort of blah. The Grapevine Trail would give it a unique identity, but still tied to Marvin Gaye and the park. Of course that's just my opinion.
