The police have released the name of the cyclists and the officer involved in last weekend's homicide.
Bladensburg police have identified the bicyclist killed when he was struck by a police cruiser Saturday as Rene Osmin Pineda-Paredas, 25, of the 5000 block of Tilden Road.
Police identified the officer as Alex Salinas and said it did not appear that he had violated any policies or procedures in the crash.
Otherwise there were no new details, like did the bike have a light on it, which would seem to be a pretty important fact.

Unfortunately for the victim, pretty much any conceivable behavior by the police is covered by "following procedures."
