DCist is now saying that DC could get two stages of the 2011 Giro d'Italia (I had two stages of the Giro d'Italia once, but an ointment cleared it up). Still, right now it's only a proposal by a group of local race promoters.
While the prologue would stay within the city's federal core, Sommers said, the first stage would likely incorporate parts of Rock Creek Park and Massachusetts Avenue up toward the National Cathedral to add climbs to what is an otherwise relatively flat city
GGW reports on a new building proposed for Chapin Street, NW.
A garage opening onto the rear alley would contain 15 car spaces, one handicapped space, one loading space, and 41 indoor bicycle parking spaces.

Jeff Peel, on his new blog (I'm not crying, it's just raining), writes about the death of cyclist in his hometown of Tupelo, MS.
Near SE/SW to get 25 new bike racks, branded with neighborhood names, thanks to Performance Parking Revenue. GGW has more on it, including this awesome map. It looks like most of the racks are going in on 8th and along Pennsylvania.
Community and business leaders spoke passionately in support of making the neighborhood more walkable and bikeable.
Streetsblog DC is looking for photos of kids on bikes. Prepare for cuteness overload.
