From NBC4
A young man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot in the head while riding a bike though Marvin Gaye Park in Northeast.
The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, close to the park entrance at Fitch Place and Division Avenue.
So far, police have neither a motive nor a suspect.
From the location it's hard to tell if this was on the road or on the trail through Marvin Gaye Park.

It says . . . something . . that this has passed mostly without comment in the cycling community.
(Not claiming to know exactly what that something is, to be clear).

Well, the bike riding was more likely to be incidental in this case then lets say a crash. If the cyclist was shot BECAUSE they were on a bike, that would probably get more intention.

Agreed, but I was just struck how unanimously we assumed there was nothing to it (like, say, being robbed of the bike), and suspect it's got a lot to do with the location. Happened in Old Town? Not so much.
