Carl Henn made sure Rockville's Millennium Trail would be contiguous and clearly marked for bicyclists, and now the city will clearly mark it in his honor.
With a unanimous vote, Rockville's City Council on Monday night agreed to name the trail and the city's Individual Environmental Achievement Award after Henn. It's the latest in an attempt to memorialize Henn, 48, who died in late July after lighting struck him.
The trail is now named the Carl Henn Millennium Trail. A plaque will be posted on the trail near Hungerford, recognizing Henn. The naming will be officially announced at the City Council Town Hall meeting in Town Center on Sept. 27.

It's a fitting honor for a tireless advocate.
