Light on local news today
- The East Coast Greenway will be producing a Maryland-DC Bicycling and Walking Guide to the ECG this year. It will follow the same format as their DE-PA-NJ user guides.
- Multi-modal parking at Tyler Elementary School.
- Results of Toronto's first bike commuter count "While only 24 per cent of the streets monitored for the count offered bike lanes, 45 per cent of the cyclists counted used those streets." And while the article makes it seem minuscule, nearly 7% of the vehicles entering downtown were bikes, which I think is impressive.
- GPS based bait bikes used at Winthrop University have increased arrests from 1 per year to 8. A similar program at the University of Wisconsin led to a 45% drop in bike theft.
