the step through nature of these bikes are great for this. Trying this on my personal bike is met with not-so-pleasant consequences after riding CaBi for a while
please please please don't wear earphones when riding a bike!

Maybe I'm completely out of touch, but the heck is skooshing?

Just a heads-up for when CaBi expands beyond the "Ca": here in VA, it is illegal to ride a bicycle with 'phones in both ears. One ear is legal, although it's still probably a bad idea.

Skooshing is using your bike like a skateboard - it comes in handy when you want to go closer to walking speed.

VaBi sounds a bit naughty. And no, I have not gotten laid in a while.

Nope. She's skooshing. She's propelling herself with a free foot like you would on a skateboard. She's not pedaling.

...looks to me like she's just walking.
Nice picture for promoting CaBi, though: no spandex in sight, just a normal DCite going about her day.

I'm the photog. She caught my eye at Arts on Foot. Probably not a good idea to wear headphones!
