- Artistic bike racks, a brief local history.
- The speed limit debate goes on, and I realize that I've probably been mis-attributing this to CM Cheh, but it is actually CM Bower who proposed the speed limit change. I apologize to both of them as well as everyone else in the world.
- The Heritage Foundation doesn't think biking and walking have anything to do with transportation and mobility. Of the TE program, they said "these 12 categories have as much to do with transportation and mobility as G.I. Joe dolls have to do with national security." They might have a point with billboard removal, but certainly things like building bicycle and pedestrian facilities or safety education or preserving railroad ROW or even mitigating environmental damage caused by roads, have quite a bit to do with transporation and mobility. To make their point they cherry-pick some projects from Virginia including a rail-trail in Buchanan County (which they call a hiking trail, but is a hiker-biker trail), a Hotel in La Crosse that will serve as a trailhead facility for the Tobacco Heritage Trail and as rail passenger station for future Southeast High Speed Rail (facts they omit) and the renovation of a former rail passenger waiting area in Danville - which I think is the Amtrak Station and also includes a riverwalk trail. [They also call the Bush Mill, the Bull Mill, but now I'm just nitpicking]. All of these are related to transportation and mobility, just not driving
