Good afternoon
- CM Mary Cheh gave he colleagues gifts to make them all into cyclists. These included helmets, custom DC bike license plates, maps and a one-day membership to CaBi. "Additionally, Councilmember Cheh has created a custom booklet for her colleagues, which includes directions from the Wilson Building to their homes, to the Reeves Center, to One Judiciary Square, and to DDOT’s Headquarters."
- More bike parking instaleld in Petworth (not really what this is about). "It’s apparently part of a citywide move to install 1,150 solar-powered single-space meters"
- When Old Jefferson Davis Highway is rebuilt it will be renamed Long Branch Park Road and include bike lanes. It should be finished by August.
- The proposed Minnesota Vikings stadium would have a bike trail that leads to it.

The reconstruction of Old Jeff Davis Hwy is great news. It was bad when I lived in Pentagon City over 25 years ago!

I wonder if the Jeff Davis reconstruction team is going to have to perform an exorcism of all the good nights out that died because of the towed cars that headed down that road . . .
