Photo by Rootchopper who writes "The crew working on the renovation of Jones Point Park chose Bike to Work Day to install a new detour at the southern end of the Wilson Bridge underpass on the Mount Vernon Trail. The "S" curve and dirt and gravel transitions at the bottom of a hill were a particularly thoughtful."

The "fencing" across the street was no longer there by Thursday afternoon.

At least they have added dirt! My first experience was right as they were setting up the fencing and there was no dirt, so everyone was having to bunny hop the curb. It is something new over there every evening! I heard one guy at at the bike to work meet up, saying he crashed over there that morning.

Does anyone know when this mess will be finished? Between the gravel, the forced detour onto bumpy sidewalks, and the tire-grabbing gaps between the road and the sidewalks, it's a new adventure every day. And oh yeah, they recently added three, thick, non-reflective metal posts at the bottom of the hill.
