- MPD helps recover a stolen bike. Bike thief not caught.
- Metro opened its Bike and Ride facility at College Park Metro today. "By next summer, secured bicycle parking facilities will be built at the Vienna and King Street stations. Over the next five years, Bike and Ride will be rolled out in the District as well as more Virginia and Maryland locations. Rates for Bike & Ride are 5 cents per hour between the hours of 8 a.m. and midnight and 2 cents an hour all other times." You need a card to use it and that costs $5. It can store up to 120 bikes in a space that would have only parked 10 cars. GGW has photos.
- "[Bicycle Ad Hoc Committee] Chairwoman MaryLynn Hinde attributed Frederick's success to projects such as the Seventh Street bike lanes and the bicycle history loop completed last fall, as well as an upcoming race of old-fashioned high-wheel pennyfarthing bikes and planned construction of a pump track -- a loop of rollers and berms that can be ridden without pedaling.
