Following a successful Ride and Picnic that attracted over 250 people last month, BicycleSPACE has planned another Full Moon Outing to take place on the evening of Tuesday, July 3rd. In celebration of FireFlies, riders will be take a pleasant cruise through the city before finishing at a peaceful spot to enjoy a grand picnic and musical surprises. To attend this free event, please register here.

Generally I'm in support of what BicycleSpace is trying to accomplish with these rides but I've been on a few and was greatly disturbed by how the leader encouraged really bad cycling behavior. For instance, riding through red lights as a group, not stopping at stop signs, not yielding to pedestrians.
I decided to stop attending these rides since I didn't want to contribute to the negative image of cyclists.
I did bring this issue up to one of the workers at one point and was told that they have to encourage such behavior in order to keep the group together. I greatly disagree with this argument having been on other group rides held by organizations such as WABA where laws were obeyed and the group stayed together reasonably well.
I hope BicycleSpace reviews its policies and reforms its ways.
