In a sign of development near the NY Ave Metro station, a new building is now taller than the MBT. Further down the trail, the Washington Gateway has broken ground, new housing is almost finished on the old Eckington Rail Yards site and another lot has been cleared - though I don't know what for. WABA is concerned Washington Gateway is using the trail for construction access.

Will these projects add lights or other amenities to the trail?

I wish this were being built to integrate into the trail like an arcade...
