According the "papers" ALTA was owed about 1.4M by BIXI. So cancelling the contracts would be pretty standard.

Still potentially lucrative. Something like 15 or 20K BIXi style bikes worldwide. Unkwown number of docks.

The renwables there look prety good alone. And you are pretty locked in -- it would be impossible to build a new docking mechanism.

Actually Alta and 8D had announced earlier this year that they had a new partnership, which included enhanced bike stations (including membership key sales directly from the kiosks). I haven't read any updates on that partnership or what it means for CaBi or the Alta relationship with Bixi Int'l.

The press release stated that the partners would expand existing systems and enter new markets sometime this year.
