I get exactly what your point is, and I agree with you. Just the same I'll say that I participated in this ride (The Five Boro Bike Tour) over the weekend, and traffic was plenty snarled for the bike riders as well. They did the best they could with the huge number of participatnts. There was a big backup in lower Manhattan near the start of the ride, and another pretty big backup waiting to get on the Queensboro Bridge. Other small backups in places where there were chokepoints because of entering narrower streets. But they did eliminate the huge backup at the entrance to Central Park that I remember from when I was on this ride about 15 years ago.
