If they're removing the meters to improve pedestrian access it's hard to imagine they'll replace them with bike parking.

Have you noticed that there is nothing -- and I mean nothing -- that you can lock a bike to along M street in Georgetown? I think it's deliberate because the sidewalks are so narrow.

I don't see the point on K street though -- the sidewalks are plenty wide there.

The real bike parking doesn't have to be on the sidewalk. In Montreal - photos coming I swear - they removed one on street parking space for cars and replaced it with a bike parking space. There are dozens of other creative solutions I'm sure.
