It was a lot of fun yesterday! Good timing, too. Would have been tough in the snow!

A friend of mine and I went for the kort Vasa which turned out to be 20.5 miles instead of 15.5. Plus the return trips to Arlington/ Alexandria and we had ourselves a nice Sunday ride. My feet were ice blocks but otherwise it was a great experience.

I also met a few nice people and we had a cool group of five riders who found their way through parts of DC I did not know existed.

Vasa 2010 will be on my calendar!

You must have missed out on the hand and feet warmers that WABA handed out at the registration table(courtesy of REI).I did the 28-mile Halv Vasa. The roads were no problem. I was comfortable for the entire ride. And the blueberry soup was tasty.

The only thing that was cold were my feet. (Lobster Claws rule!) I did not see how taking off my booties and shoes to apply the warmers would have been effective for me... ;-)

If I had a recommendation, I would hope that maybe WABA would distribute the cue sheets beforehand for the next ride.

Missed the soup again! Suffered flat tire fiasco on the 56-miler. Two tubes failed, cold temps prevented patching, so walked into Bethesda, bought more tubes, but too much time had passed so I headed home. Still put in 50+, but jonesing for the soup. Next year.

Who's riding the matching creme-color Kronans? Nice!!!

The great Swedish bikes were contributed to the embassy last week, according to one staffer. They were immaculately brand new and gorgeous.

Hi Eric - Glad to know I was one of the "cool group of five riders!" By the way, my feet have finally sufficiently thawed...that's because I'm on day 7 of a trip to Hawaii!
