Earlier today, the DC Office of Contracts and Procurement issued an RFP for the operation of the Union
Station Bicycle
Transit Center
(aka the Bike Station).
Copies of the request for proposals can be obtained at the Reeves Center
(2000 14th Street, NW,
3rd Floor bid room) or on line at this link.
Proposals are due June 26 at 2pm. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, June 5.

In answer to two other frequently asked questions about the project:
- The center is scheduled to open in August
- There is no wait list for memberships. On line membership registration is scheduled to be available in July or August.

I wouldn't count on those yet.
I heard DDOT is taking time to reevaluate and ask questions like do they want to stick with Clear Channel? Do they want a system that can be used by Arlington, Alexandria, MoCo and PG? etc...
