Bike to Work Day Tomorrow, Bike Prom on Saturday

And something about the pit stop at Nationals Stadium

140 riders have registered to be at the ballpark between 6:30 and 8:30 am, and councilmembers Tommy Wells and Michael Brown, along with Capitol Riverfront BID executive director Michael Stevens and City Administrator Dan Tangherlini, will be on hand, and Wells and Stevens will ride together to the ballpark to kick off the program. There will be food, drinks, music, and raffling of selected items (autographs! game tickets! a new bike!).

There also apparently is going to be a Bike to the Park Day on June 21, when the Nats play the Toronto Blue Jays. More info on that to come.

And then, on Saturday there's the bike prom

WABA and the Washington City Paper are teaming up to bring you the second annual Bike Prom! This year's event is taking place on Saturday, May 16 in the middle of National Bike Month and a day after the DC area's Bike to Work Day celebration. This fun bash will feature local DJs spinning tunes all night, all the dancing you can handle, ample bike parking, raffle prizes, photo booth, and crowning of the Bike Prom King and Queen.

Also, I head that Del. Norton is working to secure funding for some high priority DC bike projects like the Metropolitan Branch Trail and South Capitol Street Trail (which one day should provide a quick connection between the Douglas and Wilson Bridges.
