FABB wrote about biking to Wolf Trap. They have a bike rack, but it's one of the old wheel benders. I agree that the NPS ought to switch to the inverted U's. [At least they now have a rack instead of discouraging people from biking. Slow progress is still progress.]
In their post they included a link to information on the NoVi (Northern Vienna, pronounced Noe-Vee) trail network.
A feasibility study was performed to determine whether the community
would benefit by making these places safer and easier to reach by foot
or on a bike. This would be accomplished by connecting the bits and
pieces of sidewalks and trails which already exist into a continuous
network of trails.
Phase I of the NoVi Trail Network is proposed along Beulah Road from Abbotsford Road to Meadowlark Gardens, with a spur on upper Clarks Crossing Road.
In a report released November 2006, a citizen advisory committee determined that Phase I of the NoVi Trail Network trail is feasible due to favorable existing conditions, widespread community support, and ample publicly-held land along the route.

- A pedestrian bridge has been designed to span the Dulles toll Road between Wolf Trap National Park and the Barns of Wolf Trap that will connect with the proposed Northern Vienna (NoVi) trail network. The No Vi Trail effort is noted by the Wolf Trap Foundation in its new environmental initiative.
- The 2007 Transportation Bond Referendum included funds to construct a section of trail within Segments A, B, and C of Phase I of the NoVi Trail Network. See Phase 1 Segment Map link below.
- Federal Transportation Enhancements grant funding will be used to fund Segment D of Phase I: a multi-purpose trail and crossing at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, identified as the 830' proposed trail on the Phase 1 NoVi Trail Network Segment D Map.
- The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NVRPA) is installing a trail link between the W&OD Trail and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens via Meadowlark Road, using existing public rights-of-way and its parkland.
