Via GGW. Back in July the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board voted to seek TIGER funds for several transportation programs including $10M to expand the bike sharing program in DC by 1600 bikes at 160 stations region-wide (this is in addition to the 10 stations that already exist and the 90 stations DC already received funding for). College Park wants in.
Initially, the bike-sharing plan did not include College Park, but City
Councilman Patrick Wojahn (Dist. 1), who attended the July 15 meeting,
spearheaded the effort to get the city included.
TPB officials were receptive but requested letters of endorsement from municipalities wishing to participate in the program. The College Park City Council voted unanimously at Tuesday's work session to send a letter signed by Mayor Stephen Brayman.
