The Holmes Run/Chambliss Crossing Study continues with another public meeting on September 24th, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 pm at William Ramsay Recreation Center (5650 Sanger Avenue).
During previous meetings three options (8MB pdf) were discussed including a fair weather crossing that can only be used when it hasn't rained, a low profile crossing that can be used except when there has been flooding and a bridge designed to cross the flood zone. After some study the bridge was eliminated because it would cost too much and because it would raise the flood plain. The recommended option is the baby bear option of a low profile crossing.
Another thing to come out of the study is that people would like to see some work done on stream bank stabilization and you can read about that at the Presentation under the May 30th meeting.
The agenda for this meeting is not yet set. If you go, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
