DCist has photos that are much better than mine (sorry, not my strong point, but Eric Gilliland takes good photos).
WAMU has a story.
NBC covers it "Bikestation D.C. also boasts a greener design -- using a hybrid natural and mechanical venting system to minimize power use." Which reminds me. Someone was saying that the reason this cost so much was that they made a lot of investments up front (when the FHWA was paying) that would keep the maintenance and operation costs (that DC was paying) down. So they paid more now to save money in future years. But that might be just a rumor.
Silver Spring Trails writes about how Montgomery County won't go for a $4M bike station so they'll need to be more modest (and practical) in their design.
And Fox5 has a video about the "$4M bike rack" or as they mention incredulously and repeatedly, the "priciest" indoor bike station in the country. Way to focus on the positive. But, they do feature DC's favorite "vigilante" bike commuter David Bono.

i don't know if the same advert comes up every time you play the fox 5 video, but when i did, you get an ad for a car (ford mustang). kinda ironic.
fox 5's harping on the cost without really analyzing why it was so high is a perfect example of why you need to get your news from more places than just the old traditional dinosaurs.
