If you're looking for one stop shopping on trail status, and with the advantage of Twitter's instantaneous hive feature, check out the DC Trails twitter group. It says it's specifically for the Custis, W&OD and Mount Vernon, but people are giving updates on other trails as well.
Arlington County was out clearing snow piles near the intersections of the Custis Trail from Lynn to Vietch streets as well as the trail itself. So it looks like that trail has gotten much needed help.

While I appreciate this effort on the part of Arlington County, based on my experience this weekend, they've got a LONG way to go:

As of 5:30 pm 2/23, the Custis where it splits off from Lee Highway after climbing the Rosslyn hill is still snow cover on at least the decent towards Sprout Run.
