Looks like they aligned those sharrows about a foot too far to the right.

Here's a look at a sharrow on 15th St. NW in DC:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dylanpassmore/4520935195/ . If you ride along the sharrows in DC, you're well clear of the "door" zone and cars need to move into another lane to pass you. For that stretch of Walter Reed, you're riding on some really crappy pavement. Hopefully they'll do better next time.

Crappy pavement, as well as other obstacles, if you choose to ride where they're trying to point us. They at least have cleaned up some of the sand and gravel. But the manhole covers and grates and other things in the gutter are still issues.
I don't know about anyone else, but I ride exactly where I always did on Walter Reed, and it sure isn't where the arrow is pointing...
