Bicycling Magazines top 50 Bike Friendly cities is out and both DC and Arlington (which technically isn't a city, but bygones...) made the cut. DC at 13th and Arlington at 30th. Baltimore slipped in at 48th.

City Paper's Best Local Bike Blog 2009
I see my hometown made top honors, even beating out Portland.
Which doesn't surprise me. Even 20 years ago, it was fairly easy to bike around Minneapolis. And they've opened up a lot of trails and facilities in the time since I left.
Also of note, while Baltimore made the list, the entry makes mention of now-deposed Mayor Dixon.

Intriguing to me that Ft. Collins (Co) is not on this list - it has made the top 10 on other similar lists, if I recall correctly.

Ft. Collins also comes to mind with me as well.
As a Missouri native with family still there, I would NOT include any of the cities in MO in any list of "good cycling" areas. K.C. - are they serious?

Not to be a curmudgeon, but I love how the picture for Arlington actually shows the spires of Georgetown University with the Rosslyn skyline just BARELY visible in the background.
Seriously, that's the best they could do?
