Work Begins on Long Bridge Park

DCMud reports that work officially kicked off on Long Bridge Park, a park located between Roaches Run and I-395. This phase will include a short esplanade - which will allow cycling - and bike lanes on Jefferson Davis Highway. The real payoff for cyclists comes in a later phase with a direct connection to the Mount Vernon Trail.

This should be really nice once it's finished. I hope they start upgrading Old Jefferson Davis Hwy soon as well.
