I'm going to the Nats game today, but for the first time ever will not be biking to a Nats game. Washtricycle is too young to ride in a trailer. It makes this post on Things We Take for Granted more poignant.
Mrs. Washcycle wants to drive. Egads!

I tested one at Big Wheel Bikes at Lyon Park (next to Italian Store).
It rode surprisingly light--like I wasn't pulling anything--and cornered fine. Next step: buy one and stick the kid (4 year old) in it.

Yes, I remember that disappointing first year, reading different people's opinions on when is it OK to ride a child in the trailer. I/we reluctantly went with the conservative approach.
Some folks use the infant car seat strapped in, and the tire pressure lowered. But it would seem there should be an effective solution specifically designed to address this.

Welcome to life with children! It does change the cycling equation dramatically adding a hypersensitivity to aggressive drivers and a desire for lower traffic volume routes!!
