It has occured to me that the polls are already open (in part because I voted last Thursday). So, as I did with the primary, I'm giving the readers here a chance to say what they want about candidates running this Novemeber. Who's good for cyclists? Who's bad for cyclists? What are your thoughts on Arlington's bonds etc...
Most of the rest of the bond would fund improvements to our sidewalks, bicycle network, and streets. It would help fund safer sidewalks along major streets and better pedestrian access to transit and to schools. It would help improve the bicycle network and make it safer. And it also would help pay some of the cost of rebuilding and repaving our streets.
This funding allows the county to invest in upgrading and adding new infrastructure in neighborhoods to improve safety and allow for more use of pedestrian walkways, bike paths and other means of transportation.
You can also check out the bike league's election guide.
According to Purple Line Now, O'Malley supports the current plan for the Purple Line, while Ehrlich backs the country club-preferred bus line detour. See here. The Ehrlich plan, presumably, would not pave the CC trail between Bethesda and Rock Creek, and it's not clear if there would be a better crossing of Jones Bridge Rd.
