The consensus is that this probably was not a good election for cyclists and cycling advocacy.
- Both Andy Clarke of LAB and Jonathon Maus of Bike Portland write about Jim Oberstar's narrow loss - 4000 votes out of 273,000 cast.
- Some good news: DC Bike Ambassador Ben West won a seat on ANC 1D.
- Alex Sink "who said bike infrastructure could improve street safety" lost the Florida governor's race.
- Bike and trail advocate John Hickenlooper beat bike-paranoid tea-party candidate Dan Maes for Governor of Colorado.
- Bill Haslam who "has gained some praise for his bike policy" was elected governor of Tennessee
- Regardless, top advocacy groups and lobbyists think it's going to be tough sledding and we'll be "playing defense" for the next two years.
