There's going to be a meeting next month to discuss the area just south of the Mall and how to improve it. Bikes should be a part of any ecodistrict.
The National Capital Planning Commission, in coordination with other federal agencies and the District of Columbia, invites you to attend a public meeting on the Southwest Ecodistrict Initiative. This joint effort aims to transform the 10th Street and Maryland Avenue corridors in Southwest Washington into a vibrant, well-connected precinct to live, work, and visit.

I'be been working at L'Enfant Plaza for most of the last 27 years. It has always been an unpleasant street scape. 33 years ago I worked in the John Hancock Tower in Boston. It's nicknamed the Plywood Palace because the windows kept falling out. (The building was oriented such that it intensified already strong winds.) Both the Palace and L'Enfant Plaza were designed by the "genius" I. M. Pei. I hope DC figures out a way to Pei me back for 27 years of looking at this ugly mess.
