Fixed - after 3 Years by Rootchopper

Several years ago a huge storm uprooted a tree alongside the Mount Vernon trail between Dyke Marsh and the stone bridge. The tree had torn a gash in the side of the trail. The tree was removed sometime in the last couple of weeks and the gash repaired (just in front of Nellie's front wheel), Now there is no longer a pinch point in the trail.
The National Park Service is usually pretty prompt with trail repairs so we'll chalk the delay in fixing this to an oversight.
I met Nellie and Rootchopper this morning on the MVT. Nice chatting with you, Rootchopper!
