At last night's Capital Bikeshare birthday bash DDOT director Terry Bellamy announced that CaBi will be expanding more than previously announced. It will now be adding 50 stations in addition to the earlier announced 32 and 500 more bikes in addition to the 265 previously announced. Awesome. [Not sure how they get to 184 stations. Maybe it's a typo]
Gotta keep up our status as the largest bikeshare system in North America!
But seriously, this is great news. Along with the NPS decision to allow CaBi on the Mall, the extra stations will improve coverage and help to resolve bike balancing issues downtown and in Columbia Heights/U Street. Cool!
