Where is this? I thought R Street NW already had a dedicated lane for most of the route.

That one's at R and 1st St NW. The lane ends when R intersects Florida.

Anyone know of a more detailed study of the efficacy of sharrows than LA's June 2011 report? See http://ladotbikeblog.wordpress.com/2011/07/28/ladot-sharrows-report-results-sharrows-are-good/ (finding that "Sharrows improved the interactions between drivers and bicyclists in a number of ways: drivers passed bicyclists at greater distances, drivers allowed a greater tailing distance when following behind a bicyclist, tailgated a bicyclist far less often, took fewer aggressive actions, and were less abusive towards bicyclists.")?
