Good morning
- Streetcars vs. Bicyclists - aka the War on Bikes.
- More pedicab operators were arrested. One for failing to obey an order and the other for video-recording a police officer too aggressively. Force was used.
- The Northeast Branch Trail between Decatur and EW Highway, and possibly south to Route 1, will be closed as of April 9 so that they can raise the levies. Not sure when that will be complete or if a detour will be laid out. Anyone want to suggest one?
- More on the Green Lane Project.
- Last month, DC announced installing hundreds of new wayfinding signs. Now it's Arlington's turn. But the signs have some problems "Arlington staff have told me that Washington, DC will appear on very few of the signs even though it is one of the most common destinations, especially for weekday commuters."
- “It's impossible to be on the road with a bike because the cars are too aggressive, so it's important to have the speed cameras for our safety for the pedestrian,” said D.C. resident Annie Carluccan.
- A whole different kind of bike theft.
- More construction along the Capital Crescent Trail to start soon.
- Watch a busy CaBi day.
- Get a bike fest early bird discount.
- BART, which is similarly designed to DC's Metro, will have bike racks inside it's newly designed cars.
NE branch flood (and now construction) work around isn't too bad: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1056087
I hope cyclists pressure PG county to mark the detour prominently and finish the work quickly! That's my favorite section of the commute.

Re NE branch trail: it looked to me like it will only be the section between Decatur and Riverdale Rd that will be closed. If so, Taylor St is an easy detour.
