So there is no right on red at a bike box for cars (to protect cyclists) and the same goes for cyclists (to protect the delicate sensitivities of motorists).
I used to think that protecting lives was more important that protecting the delicate sensitivities of motorists. Now that this helpful video has clarified the situation for me, I am no longer frustrated by what I used to see as non-life-affirming comments by motorists, such as "get on the sidewalk before you get run over!". I now recognize those comments as motorist-affirming. Because "motorist-affirming" is just as good as "life-affirming," I feel better now. Yay!
simplistic and misleading...not all "bike boxes" are created equal and in many states the vehicle code has not caught up
