From a recent press release
The Revolution Cycles City Hub, located at 220 Twentieth Street, S in Crystal City, will be closing by the end of 2012. The City Hub, which has focused primarily on bike access and bike rental programs, has been open since the spring of 2010.
I certainly think that the Crystal City BID and Vornando should be commended for starting this program, but shutting it down is probably the right decision. It's better to just invest that money in better Capital Bikeshare infrastructure. That is not a ding on Revolution Cycles, just a statement of the network effect.
But, when they had an awesome mechanic (who left in February) it was a great resource for those of us who live in the neighborhood and wanted to take our bikes where there was a reasonable expectation that the mechanics knew what they were doing. In other words, not Hudson Trail's bike shop.
