Hooray. I have seen too many near-collisions with cars.

You left out the best quote!

Well done, PR writer.

I appreciate the improvement, but I'm not seeing how any of this prevents near-collisions. To me, that is a function of having a parking area literally adjacent to the trailhead so that cars exiting often back up right across the trailhead. Like this morning. Can't really blame the drivers (who are usually fairly careful). It's just a design problem that will lead to a serious accident someday.
