Good morning
- DDOT is taking comments on the zebra barriers proposed for Pennsylvania Avenue until June 13th. (Video below the fold)
- "It’s too early to tell whether parking spaces lost when bike lanes were installed will cause ticket revenue to dip or whether the sharp uptick in the number of people riding bicycles around town will mean less demand for the city’s 260,000 on-street parking spaces."
- The Landmark Mall redevelopment comes with $500,000 for pedestrian and bicycle paths
- One way that seatbelt laws differ from helmet laws.
Ticket revenue fall? Haha. My fiancee got a ticket last night parked over in Eastern Market. She was actually parked legally and was in the middle of the time she had paid for. DC will find a way to make up for revenue even if it means just ticketing people legally parked and hoping they don't challenge it. Of course this is a problem I don't have except when I don't ride in.

what are zebra barriers?

Greg: zebra barriers are a line of wild african equines intended to stop cabs from pulling U-turns. If you go to the zoo, or the Serengeti, you never see U-turning cabs. I suppose its something about their fearsome kick.
