The inverted U rack - often imitated but never improved upon.

I think it's a mild improvement over the inverted U. The O shape provides a cross bar, a greater contact area with the ground, and a chance to hide the ground bolts behind a plate.

That looks useful as well as fundamentally a mild twist on the inverted U. And maybe just from novelty's sake, but it's more pleasing to the eye (my eye, I guess). Saved from the cute designers. Well done.

Rack shape aside, aren't these impractically close to the concrete lip of the flowerbed, at left?
