The Folley Branch Stream Valley Park Connector Trail, a new trail segment in the Lanham area is complete and the project will be going out to bid in September 2013.
This project will connect the existing Lakeview trail (located south of MD 450) with the western terminus of the WB&A Trail on the north side of MD 450 via a new 8’ wide paved trail, boardwalk and bridge over the Folly Branch. The trail will cross under MD 450 through an existing box culvert. A 6’wide spur trail will lead from the culvert to the Vista Gardens Marketplace, providing a convenient way for residents to access the shopping center.
Construction is expected to begin before the end of 2013 and the trail will be complete in Summer 2014.
And then on the north (or east) end of the WB&A
Construction will begin soon to pave the former WB&A Spur (to the Penn Line at Lemon’s Bridge) to create a trail from the Horsepen Trailhead northward, above the peaceful wetlands along the Patuxent River. The new trail is expected to be complete in early 2014.
On the south side, some of the bridges that connected the spur to the race track are still extant, if you're in to such things. I took a picture of them once, but can't find them.
Wouldn't the connection to the race track be on tne north end? Or is there another race track near 450?

Yes. I see how I confused you.
So the trail is at an angle. On the south (or east) side of the north end of the trail (near the river). That's where the spur is.
