Capital Bikeshare recently released new data and it shows that the system continues to grow without diminishing returns.
The program is coming up on 6 million total trips for over 6 million miles. October of 2013 had 21% more trips than October of 2012 and, with the exception of February and March, every month this year has shown 20-50% year-over-year growth in trips. In August they had a record 296, 333 trips for a record 318,206 miles.
The system has grown but ridership has grown in step with it. The program now has more than 2000 bikes at 300 stations. Trips per bike per day (tpbpd) for the last 12 months averaged 3.8 down just a little from he prior year's 4.0 and August and September were the 3rd and 4th best months in the program's history by that metric, behind June and August of 2011.
Crashes and vandalism remain very low.
But, but people said that no one would ride the bikes (back in 2009-2010).

Crashes and vandalism remain low. But, but, you forgot to mention all the rampant law breaking by cyclists.
