An unofficial groundbreaking began on the first phase of the Riverfront of the Anacostia project at one is currently the Florida Rock site (an official groundbreaking will be scheduled for later). This project will include a small part of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail connecting to Diamond Teague Park in near SE.
None of the images, like the one above, show cyclists on the "trail" so it may end up being like the rest of the near SE section (Yards Park Boardwalk and the Navy Yard Promenade) where biking is technically banned, thus making more room for shopping women listening to their iphone.
Delivery is expected in fall of 2016.
