DDOT is hosting a public meeting to discuss the Georgia Avenue NW Dedicated Bus Lane and Streetscape Project. DDOT will present the plans and schedule for the upcoming project. The meeting will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm at 815 Florida Avenue NW.
It's been two and half years since the last meetings about this project, so I have no idea what is being planned, but back then the plan was for the outside lane to be bus/bike lanes.
BTW, I think this is part of DDOT's 2010 TIGER project (remember "shovel-ready"?) that grew out of a 2007 study. In 2011, Mayor Gray moved money away from this project.
Very interesting.
Chances that DDOT will remove a general purpose travel lane < 10%
Changes that if they do and it will be respected: 0%.
And what about the loss of parking! Somebody at DDOT is playing with us.
