What surprises me actually is that they kept the road on it. They've been talking about converting Campus Drive into a pedestrian only use for a little while now (http://greatergreaterwashington.org/post/5624/umd-plans-to-ban-all-transit-from-campus-drive/).
That rendering is across Campus Drive (as it exists now) from Stamp Student Union looking down toward the Hornbake Library (pillared building).
