Rep. Blumenauer (D-OR) introduced an amendment to require the Architect of the Capitol to study the feasibility of adding Capital Bikeshare stations to the Capitol grounds and to provide $100k to pay for that study. Rep Tom Graves (R-GA) and Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) from just across the Potomac supported the bill and there was no opposition. CaBi was spoken of it such glowing terms It must've been blushing.
Studies can be great but in this case, they could have bought 2 stations with 13-16 bikes each. They're not pouting concrete, if it doesn't work in one location, couldn't it just be moved.

The purpose of the study is not to decide where to put the bikes, but to see if a system can be put in place to address the security concerns of the Sergeant at Arms and Capital Police (as I understand it and Rep. Graves alludes to those). I don't really know what those concerns are.
