I can't say that I'm the most wonky person when it comes to the making of federal law (School House Rock and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington only get you so far) but it appears that Rep. Earl Blumenauer has introduced an amendment to the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act of 2017 that would require "the Architect of the Capitol to conduct a feasibility study regarding the installation and operation of Capital Bikeshare stations on Capitol Grounds." That would be fantastic.
I'm not sure why the amendment is listed twice or what "Made in Order" means. I don't know the status of this amendment or why it wasn't introduced by Delegate Norton.
Nor do I know why Steve King is spending time making sure the bathroom rules don't change or what the Office of the Former Speaker is. I wish I knew more.
[The bill would also continue to instruct the Capital Police to allow sledding on Capital Grounds. Also, if you watch the hearing video, there's an interesting discussion about using the old Page Dorm as a bunkhouse for congress members who currently sleep in their office, and about the process of ending coal use at the Power Plant]
According to K Tully McManus of CQ the amendment was adopted and the law passed.

As a native Iowan, let me assure you that Steve King has not had a coherent thought in the last several decades at least. Since they rearranged districts, he represents my hometown; it's kind of ironic that living in DC I have better Congressional representation (i.e., none) than I would have if I hadn't moved away.

How cool CaBi on the hill would convince my co-workers to ride to hill meetings rather to drive. It is faster too.

I approve of this message. Not that it matters a whole lot, but I approve. Time to end the huge bike station desert on Capitol Hill.
