DDOT is going to update the relevant ANCs on the 30% designs for the Maryland Avenue NE road diet tonight at the NE Branch library from 7:30 to 9:30pm and Mayro Bowser and Councilmember Allen are expected to attend. This project would add bike lanes to Maryland Ave NE (all images from the 2015 concept plan, not tonight's presentation).
And add bulb-outs and plazas to improve the experience for pedestrians
Stanton Park changes:
Were there any suggestions to add protected bike lanes instead of conventional bike lanes? That would prevent the curb extensions but cyclists would at least be safer from car doors. I wish protected bike lanes would become the standard.

That park/plaza rendering is so not satisfying. Not a single hang glider or a child holding a bunch of balloons.

Somewhere I saw a blog where someone made more realistic renderings with laundry hanging from balconies, a homeless guy sleeping in a doorway, a picked over abandoned bike, etc... Pretty funny.

Guess where people are going to double park.
