Back in early August, the portion of the Four Mile Run Trail that was closed for stream restoration was reopened, though the ribbon cutting for it came later and the construction wasn't declared complete until the end of September. This represents the first phase of a series of improvements planned for the lower Four Mile Run Trail.
The trail has new asphalt and is now a bit wider.
There's new bike parking because people might want to stop for awhile.
And a new overlook.
Here's a reminder of what the trail used to look like. I'm not aware of when other work from the plan will be performed.
There's also some art work, including some tile-y looking stuff that I suppose could be slick when wet. Overall, good job, and we'll always have the Wayne F. Anderson Bikeway now as well.
A bit of gravel does tend to get on the trail from the electrical substation.

The new bike parking is actually next to an art installation. Let me know if you want a picture of it.
