It's not shown in the movie, but after his second heart attack Dick Cheney started riding a stationary bicycle. According to the NY Times he would take it on Air Force 2 with him on trips:

In our house, we wondered: Did Lin-Manuel Miranda really ride his bike with the ladder across the back, carrying Mary Poppins and the kids, or was it a green screen trick on a non-moving bike? According to the interwebs, he really was riding, everyone was really sitting on the bike and ladder, but there were poles going down from both ends of the ladder with wheels on the ends - like training wheels, if you will. Those poles and wheels were edited out later.

I do want a behind the scenes on doing bmx tricks with a ladder attached.
